1. What's New with the Program?

Apply to the Trilegiant Affiliate ProgramLast month, the most effective banner was promoting Trilegiant's Great Fun membership club, again.

The button for Great Fun that includes a Digital Camera offer has had the best EPC for the second month in a row. Overall, the 120x90 banners are performing better than any other size banner.

Try them out on your site or in your newsletter. If you'd like me to write some copy (let me know how many words) or you need anything else, feel free to contact me.

By the way, it was great to meet so many Trilegiant affiliates at CJU earlier this month. I hope to see you all at Affiliate Summit 2006 in January.

2. Affiliates Should Tell Merchants What They Want

The following is what Cheryl Smith of Money Mechanic had to say in response the the question, What is wrong with affiliate marketing and how can it be improved?

Communication is Vital in Affiliate Marketing. If affilaites feel the merchants are not delivering, then work with the merchant to better conversions.

Affiliates know their market the best and if they feel the home page is not good enough, ask for a landing page that will give the affiliate's target market the correct information.

It is often too easy to sit back and say they never converted, but if you don't work together to better it, no one will make money.

How would you answer the question, What is wrong with affiliate marketing and how can it be improved? There are no right or wrong answers - just opinions that can help improve the industry.

The author of any response that is published at affiliatetip.com or affiliatesummit.com will receive a limited edition "It's an affiliate thing, you wouldn't understand." t-shirt.

3. Link for a Free Pass to eComXpo

Affiliate Summit has arranged for 250 complimentary passes to attend the upcoming eComXpo event. eComXpo, a virtual tradeshow, is taking place October 6-8.

These passes are good for exhibit hall access, as well as keynote (Seth Godin) and panel presentations.

Go here to register for eComXpo.

These passes are courtesy of Affiliate Summit 2006, taking place at Bally's Las Vegas next January 8-10.

4. Archive of StartupNation Affiliate Webinar

Recently, I participated in a Webinar on affiliate marketing with Joel Welsh of StartupNation. The session consisted of a half hour interview and a half hour Q&A session.

If you couldn't make it to the live broadcast, it's now available in the StartupNation archives at http://www.startupnation.com/pages/webinars/
OS_Affiliate-Marketing-Boost-Website.asp

The Webinar covered how to set up affiliate marketing relationships, where to find online resources to maximize your affiliate marketing efforts, how to earn revenue and build traffic to your site, and more.

If you are already a member of StartupNation, just login to access the archive. Otherwise, you can join for free to watch the session.

One thing you will miss from not seeing it live is the Q&A. If you wish to ask a question, go to AskShawnCollins.com and I will answer you in my blog.

5. Affiliate Tip - Rent a Coder

I've often labored over the creation of forms and designing images for my sites. I eventually get it done, but if often takes an extended amount of time for these projects.

Those days are gone for me. A friend mentioned Rent a Coder to me the other day. Rent a coder is an International marketplace where people who need custom software or graphics created can hire coders and designers.

Buyers can pick from a pool of more than 100,000 people to create their project or graphic. With all of the overseas talent to tap into, the rates can be extremely low for quality output.
